The Challenge
TRANSOM Handling provides ground handling services to passenger aircraft, freighter aircraft and general aviation, with 2,300 employees. Formed as a separate entity out of Oman Air, it handles ground handling for all carriers at Muscat Airport.
With growing traffic, ground handling operations became complex and required a modern system. Critical applications such as the cargo management, catering and rostering systems had no real-time integration, leading to inefficiencies in serving airlines and their customers.
As the number of air carriers crossing Muscat increases, TRANSOM needed a stable and scalable system for its operations.
The Solution
4i implemented Oracle Fusion Finance, HCM and SCM, moving TRANSOM from its on-premises Oracle ERP application to Oracle Cloud ERP for one legal entity using an onsite-offshore delivery model.
Existing third-party applications such as the rostering system, asset management system and C&B system were integrated using Oracle Integration Cloud. A service and maintenance application was developed as a PaaS extension using Oracle VBCS, and Oracle Visual Builder Studio was used as a DevOps platform, significantly helping project delivery.
