The Challenge
The Landed Cost Reference field in Oracle Fusion Payables cannot be updated using REST APIs or FBDI templates, creating a gap in automation, while manual entry of daily currency rates or invoice references is time-consuming and prone to human error, impacting data reliability and audit compliance.
The Central Bank UAE publishes currency rates in web table format only, without API endpoints. Both use cases required frequent involvement of functional users updating the UI manually, which is not scalable, and currency exchange rates must be uploaded daily before business transactions.
Any delay in uploading daily exchange rates leads to incorrect or failed financial postings.
The Solution
Use case 1: the source system sends invoices to OIC through a REST interface, OIC creates them via the Fusion Payables REST API, then triggers an Oracle RPA bot that logs into the Payables UI, updates the Landed Cost Reference at line level, and reports success or failure back to OIC for notification.
Use case 2: at a scheduled time each day, an RPA bot scrapes the latest rates from the CBUAE website and formats them into the Daily Rates FBDI template; OIC uploads the file to Oracle UCM and triggers the “Load Interface File for Import” ESS job.
